December 1 National Day of Romania

On the occasion of the National Day of Romania, students of the “Borislav Petrov Braca” Vršac high school, who attend classes in the Romanian language, prepared a presentation about history, language, literature and art under the mentorship of professors Danijela Barbu, professor of history and Marijana Golomeić, professor of Romanian language and literature.

On behalf of the “Borislav Petrov Braca” high school, the guests and organizers of the ceremony were greeted by director Tamara Pešić, who thanked those present for their involvement in the past period and pointed out that the high school nurtures the creativity of young people and thus educates future experts in many fields in both languages, among which they are well-known doctors, architects, writers, athletes… The gymnasium provides a broad education, and with special dedication nurtures creativity in the Romanian language.

Ceremony to mark December 1, the Great Unification Day, Minister Counselor at the Consulate General of Romania in Vršac, Mr. Daniel Bala, greeted the professors and students of the “Borislav Petrov Braca” high school and praised their initiative and efforts to preserve the language, identity and culture of the Romanian national minorities in the Republic of Serbia.

In front of the City of Vršac, the attendees were greeted by Dr. Trajan Kačina, a member of the city council in charge of culture, proudly pointing out that he himself was a student of the “Borislav Petrov Braca” high school, he emphasized the importance of organizing events for the preservation of language, tradition and culture because the Romanian language, for members of the Romanian nationality, the language in which they think, speak and dream. He told the high school students and their mentors that the organization of cultural and educational programs will always have the support of the City of Vrsac as well as the National Council of the Romanian National Minority.

“November, the month of philosophy”

As part of the manifestation “November, the month of philosophy”, on the initiative of the Serbian Philosophical Society, at the School of Chemistry and Medicine on November 20. the Round Table of Student Parliaments of all secondary schools in Vršac was held, on the topic “Socrates still teaches us to be human”.
Representatives of the Student Parliament of our school took an active part in the given tasks, through which it was analyzed how an individual in modern society can build a healthy system of moral values. The moderator of the Round Table was professor of philosophy, Marija Mitrovanov Milojević.

Workshop of the organization “Strengthened”

On Friday, November 15, at the “Srbija” hotel, on the initiative of the non-governmental organization “Strengthened”, and with the support of the Umbrella Organization of the Youth of Serbia (KOMS), a workshop on the topic “Let’s start the era of digital security” was held.
The workshop was attended by the students of our school, who had the opportunity, through discussion and practical examples, to find out what digital security is, why it is important, what are the risks of the Internet, how they can protect themselves in the digital space, especially on social networks and who they can turn to in case of digital violence.

Autumn motivational and educational camp of the Red Cross

In the period from 31.10. until 2.11. In the resort of the Red Cross Vršac, an autumn motivational and educational camp was organized for the reception of new young volunteers of the Red Cross Vršac.
The participants of the camp, already educated volunteers, were introduced to the programs and activities of the Red Cross:

  • Diffusion
  • Promotion of humane values
  • Human trafficking program
  • First aid and realistic presentation of injuries, illnesses and conditions
    -Reducing the risk and mitigating the consequences of natural disasters and other hazards.
    In addition to the educational part, sports and recreational activities and evening get-togethers are organized.

The Student Parliament and the Vršac Students’ Union

On Thursday, November 14, the Student Parliament of our school hosted the president of the Vršac Students’ Union, Anita Kish, who presented the activities and goals of this organization.

Seven years ago, the Union created a sector for high school students, and our former and current students actively participated and participate in the work of this organization.

The call for volunteers is open and you can find it on their Instagram account @studentivrsac, where you can get more detailed information about all open positions for volunteers (correspondent, portal editor, graphic designer, web support, proofreader…).

Volunteering contributes to the acquisition of useful experience, skills and knowledge, through socializing with peers, therefore we invite our students to apply.

Literary competition “Youth give me wings”

Our students took part in the bilingual literary competition “Give the youth wings”, which was organized by the Vršac Youth Center on the occasion of Children’s Week.
A three-member jury consisting of Lenuca Urzescu, professor of Romanian language and literature, Mariana Stratulat, writer and Gordana Kovačević, professor of Serbian language and literature, decided to award and praise the following students:

“What Europe learned from medieval Serbia”

On Tuesday, November 5, a lecture entitled: “What Europe learned from medieval Serbia” was held in the premises of the City Museum in Vršac. It was attended by the students of class II1, together with their class teacher, Prof. Slavica Ristić.
It included, among other things, the following topics: Serbian sword, hussars, the first hour in Moscow, Serbian escajg, honey wine… The lecturers interested those present in the mentioned topics, and they participated actively in the segment dedicated to asking questions.
The lecture was given by members of the Museum Club: students Lana Jovanović (II1) and Jovan Rudnjanin (II1).

Book fair

Students and professors of our school visited the 67th International Belgrade Book Fair on October 21 and 23. They had the opportunity to visit this regionally largest manifestation dedicated to the book, which deals with the promotion of literary creativity and education, cultural exchange with foreign countries and the initiation of current literary and social issues.
