Under the slogan “Equality is our pride and responsibility”, high school students from Vršac, for the first time, all together, celebrated the International Day of Tolerance on November 16, in all high schools of the town of Vršac. The Union of Parliamentarians of Secondary School Students of our city designed the “Path of Tolerance”, a path that everyone walked together that day, united in song, dance, music, poetry, sports – football, basketball, volleyball… The path included several stops, and they , each in their own way, sent a message of tolerance and togetherness. Station on the “Tolerance Road” – Gymnasium “Borislav Petrov Braca”; they sang: Mihailo Simin, Arsenije Knežević, Janko Božić, Iva Mitrović, Katarina Mitrović, Maša Vasilevski, Ana Živkov, Jovana Mirkov, Tara Marković, Aleksandra Barić, Nađa Rankov, Elena Radosavljević, Maša Antonijević, Filip Cvetković, Milica Greksa, Tara Stupar , Jana Lazaroj, Zorana Radojević, Natalija Jančić, Estera Tajkuna-Teleaga, Melisa Voin and Darija Stojković. In cooperation with the Vršac Red Cross, November 16 – the International Day of Tolerance – was celebrated in our school.

The lecture was delivered by Red Cross volunteer Ivan Zavišin and student of the School of Chemistry and Medicine, Jovana Stamenković, with the support of Red Cross secretary Suzana Cvetanović.

The class II4 attended the lecture itself.

The topic was complemented by the workshop “Diversity in our class” in which students talked about tolerance in school, among peers and ways to increase awareness of it.

Marking this day, it is important to emphasize the importance of promoting humane values, especially tolerance. Tolerance is key to maintaining peace and understanding in a world full of diversity. Active acceptance of diversity contributes to building a harmonious society where the rights and freedoms of all are respected. Through tolerance, we create bridges of understanding between people of different cultures, religions and ideologies. This day reminds us that tolerance is necessary to create a world where everyone can be recognized and respected, regardless of their differences.

Tolerance is not only a virtue, but the key to building an inclusive society in which disagreements are resolved through dialogue and understanding. Through the promotion of tolerance, we build the foundations for peace and prosperity.

The municipal volleyball competition was held on Monday, November 20 in Vršac. Both our teams won first place:

On November 13 and 14, the 5th Youth Choir Festival was held in Novi Sad. The festival gathered as many as 450 students from all over Serbia – lovers of choral singing.

Among the participants were 16 high school students from Vršac, led by prof. Marina Klisko: Mihailo Simin (IV4), Arsenije Knežević (II1), Janko Božić (III2), Iva Mitrović (I1), Katarina Mitrović (I1), Maša Vasilevski (I1), Ana Živkov (II1), Jovana Mirkov (II1) , Tara Marković (I4), Aleksandra Barić (II4), Nađa Rankov (II4), Elena Radosavljević (II1), Maša Antonijević (II3), Filip Cvetković (III3), Milica Greksa (III3) and Tara Stupar (III3).

Together with their peers, in the Novi Sad Synagogue, they simultaneously performed a diverse musical repertoire previously prepared at rehearsals in their places. As many as 15 schools participated, and 14 joint compositions were performed.

The event was organized by the Serbian Choral Association in order to promote togetherness and art. “Music is not just a privilege, music belongs to everyone!” said the president of the Serbian Choral Association, Tamara Adamov Petijević, at the opening of the Festival. This sentence best describes the goal of the Festival.

The district shooting competition was held in Pančevo on November 14. Our Milica Beljin (III4) won IV place in the air rifle category. Congratulations to Milica and her mentor prof. To Euđen Chebzan!

On the occasion of the World Science Day, the students of classes I1 and I3, together with professors Daniela Mareš Đilas and Olivera Nišević, attended the opening of the photo exhibition “DNA Reflection” by Subotica author Kečkeš Albert on Friday, November 10. The organizer of the exhibition is the Vršac Cultural Center in cooperation with UrbanKult, and the exhibit is on display in the Army House in Vršac.

Albert Kečkeš is a veterinary technician by profession who works in the city shelter for abandoned animals in Subotica. As a professional, he joined the international Pawsitive Genes project with the aim of mapping the percentage of pure breed DNA in mixed-breed dogs on a certain territory (in this case in Vojvodina) based on samples of the genetic material of tested dogs.

Scientific educational project on the percentage representation of genes of pure breeds of dogs in the DNA of mixed breeds presents portrait photos of dogs that entered the program of genetic research. This project is the result of the work of two people with great enthusiasm in the field of the welfare of abandoned dogs: Gwenaelle de Bizemont, a French citizen and a resident of Subotica for some time, and Albert Kečkeš, a veterinary technician who has been actively working in city shelters since 2010. The goal of their exhibition is to raise awareness about mixed dogs!

Nature at the touchStudents of class II4, accompanied by professor Jasna Vulku, attended the opening of the exhibition “Nature at the touch” of the Natural History Museum of Montenegro. The exhibition was opened on November 10 in the “Concordia” hall of the Vršac City Museum. The exhibition consists of models as faithful replicas of animal species, fungi and plants, most of which are enlarged copies of living species. It is a unique case related to this exhibition, because it is adapted for blind and partially sighted people. The exhibition is open until December 20 this year.

On October 25 and 26, students and professors of our school visited the 66th International Belgrade Book Fair. 279 students and 32 professors had the opportunity to visit this regionally largest manifestation dedicated to the book, which deals with the promotion of literary creativity and education, cultural exchange with foreign countries and the initiation of current literary and social issues.
